In 1913 Gwyneth Bebb bought legal action against the Law Society fighting for her right to become a lawyer. The response? A woman is not a person. Four years later the passing of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) act allowed women like Bebb to pursue a legal career. Join us to celebrate the centenary of this landmark act and one of the women who made it happen.

Talks by Veronica Lowe, president of the St. Hugh's alumni association, and Jane Robinson, noted historian and author. The lectures are followed by a drinks reception.

The event will be chaired by Master Karen Shuman.

Please note this is a free event but booking is essential.

This event is not a qualifying session.
